The Kiss

I was new to the place in comparison to some of the others, but had been there long enough to know enough of the rules of engagement to get around.

It was a large warehouse type building with many add-on rooms and a loading dock.

As I made my way around the rooms it became apparent that there was some sort of medieval game, or mission, going on. It was some sort of treasure hunt with different characters from the middle ages showing up.

One of the guys I passed was brand new to the place, so I offered my assistance. We headed north through the east-west laying loading dock room, into another room where there was a small booth with a large 3ftx3ft window on a sliding sheet metal door. Inside was a secret door on the north wall. We passed through and found ourselves back in the south end of the loading dock.

The new guy said, "See, we've already been here." Not believing him, or what had just occurred, we headed north again into the next room, into the booth, through the secret door, and back out into the south end of the loading dock again. Confused by the seeming impossibility, we went north again into the next room to investigate. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary. To the west was an exit sign, so we headed out that door, into the outdoors.

We split up, he venturing out farther while I returned indoors via a different door leading back to the northern-most room. After a short time we met again at the dumpster on the western side of the building.

He appeared in distress. Approaching him I discovered he was caught in the gaze of a strange being. The creature looked mostly human from the shoulders down, but had an overly round, fuzzy, white head with two bright blue, unfeeling eyes on the uppermost sides of its head. Where a face should have been was a large, open, bloody red, vertically alligned mouth nearly as big as the face that held it.

Gripped by a surge of adrenaline I rushed in and knocked the kid aside to break the stare of the parasitic, vampiric creature. In one flowing movement I jammed the large end of a baseball bat into its mouth, knocking it onto its back where the baseball bat crushed the creatures head against the asphalt. Throughout the entire action I was explaining and instructing the new guy how to deal with these creatures, acting out the words with action as witness to their validity.

With the creature dead, my friend was beginning to regain his senses. I quickly glanced behind the dumpster to discover two more of the furry white alien vampires, one squatting in front of the other, both looking our direction.

The lower one had a strange air about itself, and I heard my mind warning me, "Don't look at it!! Look away, it's got you! Look away while you still can!"

Appearing infront of, or perhaps behind, or inside of its mouth, in a hazy, translucent vision, I began to see the most beautiful woman's face take form. Inside this creature's mouth, my innermost desires were taking form, my sub-conscious dreams looking back at me.

This ultimate shape of desire was reaching out to me with her eyes and my heart started racing with fear, with awe and anticipation. I was trapped, and fully conscious of it. Entranced by the apparition, I wondered about the sheer power of this vampire's gaze and the euphoric, paralytic effect it had on me. Her face being translucent, I could clearly see the creature's mouth opening wider to the sides as it drew closer to me. As it approached the vision of the woman became more lifelike and clearer, and she was leaning forward for a kiss.

My heart raced uncontrollably faster and my body stood immobilized with fear and panic, my mind screaming at me to run, to look away. I stood, fascinated and awestruck, bracing myself for the ecstacy of the embrace mere seconds away, thankful for the beautiful manner in which these creatures delivered their form of death. Entranced, I leaned forward to connect with this heavenly mirage...

...and woke up, very distressed, disconcerted, feeling cheated, feeling euphoric. A car in the background started up and drove off, triggering an insecure rush of fear through my body. I curled up fetally, but couldn't return to sleep. Bothered, I rolled over and cuddled up with my then fiance, embraced her, and drifted off into sleep, the physical manifestation of the dream safely in my arms.

Okay Perry, I am being quick cuz I have to work, but I think the end of that
dream symbolizes a fear that what you really want is going to, in the end,
destroy you. Or that you have a large fear of really going what you're
after. That you think it will eat you up. I'll expand later....when I
have more time. Toodles! L2 I'll read the other later...
